Therapy Fees and Insurance
Whatif Therapy provides structured, evidence based treatment through secure telehealth across California. Fees are transparent before treatment starts, and insurance options are reviewed during the consultation process.
Straightforward fees before you begin
Fees are based on session type and length. The free consultation is used to answer questions, review fit, and discuss next steps.
Initial consultation
A brief call to discuss fit, treatment needs, availability, and whether specialized care makes sense.
Initial intake
A full assessment session to clarify symptoms, goals, history, diagnosis, and the recommended treatment plan.
Individual therapy
Specialized therapy sessions for OCD, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and related concerns.
Booster session
Shorter follow up sessions for maintenance, relapse prevention, or targeted support after progress has been made.
In network with Aetna for eligible plans
Whatif Therapy is in network with Aetna for eligible plans. Coverage details such as copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and plan limitations vary and are verified before starting services.
For clients not using Aetna, services are provided on a private pay basis. Payment is due at the time of service.
Insurance checklist
- Confirm whether your Aetna plan is active and eligible.
- Review deductible, copay, coinsurance, and telehealth coverage.
- Ask whether prior authorization is required.
- Confirm whether specialized outpatient therapy is covered.
Out of network reimbursement may be possible
If you are not using Aetna insurance, you may request a monthly superbill for potential out of network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your insurance plan.
Pay at the time of service
Private pay clients pay directly at the time of each session.
Request a superbill
A monthly superbill can be provided upon request for possible out of network reimbursement.
Submit to insurance
You submit the superbill directly to your insurance company if your plan includes out of network benefits.
Confirm your benefits
Clients are responsible for confirming reimbursement rules directly with their insurance provider.
Why the fee reflects focused treatment
Exposure based treatment is different from open ended talk therapy. ERP for OCD and anxiety, and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, are structured approaches that use assessment, treatment planning, exposure practice, response prevention, and between session work.
- Sessions are active and goal directed.
- Treatment targets avoidance, compulsions, safety behaviors, and fear based patterns.
- Progress is supported through practice between sessions.
- The goal is focused change, not indefinite therapy without a plan.
