Your Rights and Protections Against Surprise Billing
Last updated: December 2025
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining how much your medical or mental health care may cost. This estimate applies to clients who do not use insurance, are uninsured, or choose self-pay for services.
Current Session Fees
Estimated Treatment Costs
Treatment for OCD and anxiety can vary. Most clients receive weekly sessions for 8–16 weeks, though some prefer more or fewer sessions depending on goals, progress, and clinical need.
4 weeks of weekly 50-minute sessions: $1,000
12 weeks of weekly 50-minute sessions: $3,000
Intake: $275
12 sessions at $250 each: $3,000
Total estimated cost: $3,275
Your actual estimate will be tailored to your treatment plan and provided in writing before your first session.
What Your Estimate Includes
Your Good Faith Estimate may include:
- Intake assessment
- Individual therapy sessions
It does not include services you choose to obtain outside of Whatif Therapy (e.g., lab tests, medications).
Your Right to a Written Estimate
- You have the right to receive a GFE at least 1 business day before your first scheduled service.
- You may also request an estimate at any time, even if you’re not scheduling a service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
